Know your itch! Learn more and get treated for Eczema and Psoriasis

If you have itchy skin that has turned red, patchy and inflamed, chances are you’re suffering from one of two conditions that are quite hard to deal with. Psoriasis and eczema are conditions that are usually thrown together and although they’re almost the same, there’s a marked difference between the two. Here are a few facts that will explain the conditions!

nm eczema1

What causes them

Psoriasis occurs due to an overproduction of skin cells mostly caused by genes. While it can affect anyone from children to people who are over 40-years-old, it essentially occurs when your skin cells are produced more quickly than they should be. Skin cells take between 21 to 28 days to replace themselves. If you suffer from psoriasis, they can be produced in 2 to 6 days!

Eczema is a long-term condition often caused by genes and environmental factors. While the specific causes for eczema are still something of a mystery to researchers, they’re usually believed to be the result of a mixture of hereditary and environmental factors. Genes are the heaviest risk factor, while environmental factors merely bring out the symptoms of the condition. Irritants such as soaps and detergents, dust mites, bacteria, very hot or cold weather and even certain food such as dairy, nuts and seeds can aggravate the symptoms.

Bust the myths

They’re not the same! Sure, they both involve red, itchy skin, but eczema usually comes with small blisters or raised spots, while psoriasis is accompanied by silver-white scales and rough skin.

They are not like acne or contagious! That’s a misconception. The skin rashes can be complicated by acne, but they aren’t acne themselves. And don’t worry; they’re not contagious.

Both won’t leave scars: Eczema usually does not leave scars at all. It can cause discolouration, but that’s all. Psoriasis also can be eradicated – but could leave behind scars.

There really is no cure: Unfortunately, there are no sure-shot eczema cures, but they can definitely be treated and you can ease the itch! Check out our list of options to soothe the skin rashes.

Treat it

Why do you get Dark Circles under Your Eyes?

When you’re a teen, if you’re worried only about pimples, pocket-money and dates, in any order, then you are missing out on a big concern. Yes, Dark Circles under the eyes can attack any time, for a whole lot of reasons!

Dark circles Teens

#TreatDarkCircles Naturally

What are Dark Circles?

  • These are large darker colored patches under and around the eye area.
  • The thin layer of skin below your eyes show the blood vessels more clearly than anywhere else
  • Dark circles are not a serious skin problem, but they make you look tired, exhausted, unhealthy and older.

What Causes Dark Circles?

There are many reasons. Both men and women of different age groups can have dark circles.

  • Lack of sleep due to late-night parties or examination time cramming
  • College or work related stress
  • Tiredness, working too hard, increases cortisol in the blood, leading to more visible veins
  • Puffy eyes are caused by water retention, which throw dark shadows in certain light
  • Scratching or rubbing your eyes a lot
  • Even sleeping on your stomach as a habit makes the blood tend to show through as dark circles
  • An unhealthy diet – nutritional deficiency, dehydration, anemia
  • Aging – as we age, our skin loses elasticity and becomes thinner
  • Some medication also causes blood vessels to dilate, leading to dark circles
  • Melanin produced due to sun exposure
  • Heredity-Your genes can play a huge role here: something known as preorbital hyperpigmentation causes more melanin to be produced by the skin below the eyes, a condition that is more noticeable in darker skinned people.

How to Treat your Dark Circles

The best cure is changing your lifestyle! Get more sleep, hydrate and moisturize well, de-stress.

Star Under-eye Care early to delay their onset. Many natural hydrating ingredients stimulate the skin’s collagen production, keeping the skin firmer, younger and brighter. In fact, using natural and organically produced skin care products prevents and banishes dark circles most effectively.

Your shining smile might be an open invitation to liver disease and cancer

Every time you brush your teeth or have a shower, you might be damaging your liver and paving the way for tumors

#NaturalTootpastes

#NaturalSmiles are brighter!

Believe it!

Triclosan is an ingredient found in soaps, shampoos, toothpastes and many other household items. Studies have established that long-term exposure to it may cause liver fibrosis and cancer.

All over the world, triclosan’s increasing detection in environmental samples and its increasingly broad use in consumer products present a very real risk of liver tumors for people.

How does this happen?

The study suggests triclosan interferes with a protein responsible for clearing away foreign chemicals in the body. Because of this stress, liver cells try to compensate by proliferating. They turn fibrotic over time and this eventually leads to tumour formation.

Scientists feel we could reduce most human and environmental exposures by eliminating uses of this most commonly found consumer antibacterial in liquid hand soaps, shampoos and toothpastes.

How can we avoid this?

The solution is staring us in the face. Ancient Ayurveda and herbal cosmetic care includes the use of neem and babul sticks to brush teeth, multani mitti and gram flour to use as body and face cleansers and other natural products for skincare and so many other cosmetic benefits. There are many grandmother’s recipes for these.

Natural Mantra offers a range of natural personal care products for safe beauty.

Turn to organic and natural solutions, and bring a genuine smile back to your life!
